The Combs House on Verdugo Street is home to the Hummingbird House Cafe.  The building was once the home of Lupe Combs.  It was moved here in 1878 from an abandoned boom town called Forster, a town formerly located on the Camp Pendleton Marine Corps base.  The building has since been used as a home, general store, and post office at various times. The property is a must visit for vacationers and is listed on the California Registry of Historical Properties.
